Advanced IFR Procedures

Gain IFR experience and develop confidence in arriving, maneuvering, and departing busy Class B airspace in the congested northeast air corridor.  This specially tailored day-long  training session contains the following elements:

  • Round trip flight into the NY TRACON (Terminal Radar Control Facility);.
  • IFR approaches and landings at JFK, Teterboro, and Westchester Airports;
  • IFR approach and landing at Philadelphia International Airport;
  • Enroute IFR procedures including holds, STARS, SIDs, and DPs;
  • PRM (Precision Radar Monitoring) approach certification;
  • IFR emergencies;
  • Instrument Proficiency Check (IPC).

This is a unique flight training experience that brings the IFR pilot far beyond the basic instrument skills needed to pass the IFR checkride.  It is designed specifically for the serious pilot who currently or anticipates operating all weather, high performance/complex aircraft in congestion airspace during peak travel hours.

Instructor:  Bob Miller, CFII

Bob is a 4,000 hour instrument instructor pilot who operates his own certified known ice Cessna Turbo 210 into and out of the major northeast airports on a regularly scheduled all-weather basis for business and lifeguard missions.

Cost: $550.00 - Includes all preparatory ground and in-flight instruction.
